PROFESSOR COLE JOINS THE ACADEMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL OF THE AMERICAN MUSEUM OF TORT LAW March 2021 — Professor Lance Cole has joined the Academic Advisory Council of The American Museum of Tort Law. The American Museum of Tort Law is a nonprofit, educational institution founded by consumer protection and government reform advocate Ralph Nader and is the world’s first museum dedicated to the law. DEAN CONWAY AND MULTIPLE FACULTY TO PARTICIPATE IN RUTGERS LAW ANTIRACISM SYMPOSIUM AS PART OF DICKINSON LAW’S COMMITMENT TO FIGHTING SYSTEMIC RACISM March 2021 — Deans Danielle M. Conway, Amy Gaudion, and Bekah Saidman-Krauss, and Professor Dermot Groome will participate in Rutgers Law School’s April 2021 Race and the Law Review Symposium entitled Building an Anti-Racist Curriculum and Law School. PROFESSOR BUTLER DELIVERS VIRTUAL BOOK TALK AT THE KENNAN INSTITUTE March 2021 — Professor William E. Butler discussed his book, International Law in the Russian Legal System, during a virtual book talk on March 19 hosted by the George F. Kennan Institute. Professor Butler's book, commissioned and published by the Oxford University Press (OUP) in late fall 2020, is the second volume in the OUP’s newly established series on the Elements of International Law. PROF. STANLEY BRAND TESTIFIES BEFORE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE March 2021 — Penn State Dickinson Law Distinguished Fellow in Law and Government Stanley M. Brand was one of four experts invited to testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties on March 11 about the constitutional framework for Congress’ ability to uphold standards of member conduct. PROFESSOR DONELSON SCHEDULED TO SPEAK ON OVERCRIMINALIZATION AT THE INSTITUTE FOR HUMANE STUDIES March 2021 — Professor Raff Donelson has been invited to serve as a panelist at a July 2021 academic research seminar presented by the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University. The seminar is entitled Unnecessary Evils: Laws, Judging, and Policing in an Overcriminalized World. Donelson will present on policing incentives which affect the number of criminal laws and the judicial incentives created by the mass of criminal laws. Full story |
