Michael Mogill PROFESSOR MOGILL IS GUEST SPEAKER ON “LAW REVIEW SQUARED” PODCAST

February 2021 — Professor Michael Mogill appeared as the guest on Dickinson Law’s 1L podcast, Law Review Squared, to discuss his article “Teaching Law Day: A Senior Moment.” The podcast was a conversation with a panel of students who posed questions about the article and discussed its implications. Dermot Groome PROFESSOR GROOME FACILITATES EXPANSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE PROGRAM TO THE KOSOVO SPECIALIST CHAMBERS AND SPECIALIST PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

February 2021 — Under the leadership of Professor Dermot Groome, who is a former international criminal law prosecutor, Penn State Dickinson Law has expanded its International Justice Program. Beginning in the fall of 2021, Penn State Dickinson Law students can work as fellows in the Kosovo Specialist Prosecutor’s Office. Full story

William Butler PROFESSOR BUTLER AWARDED CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION ON SCIENCE DAY

February 2021 — Professor William E. Butler was the recipient of an honor first established over two decades ago. On 7 June 1999 President Boris Eltsyn of the Russian Federation issued an Edict establishing 8 February as “Science Day” in the Russian Federation – an occasion celebrated each year since with awards given to deserving scholars. Amy Gaudion PROFESSOR GAUDION’S STUDENTS PREPARE FOR JOINT CYBERSPACE EXERCISE WITH U.S. ARMY WAR COLLEGE

February 2021 — Students in Professor Amy Gaudion’s Cybersecurity Law & Policy course are preparing for the 2021 Joint Cyberspace Law & Policy Exercise, an annual collaboration between Penn State Dickinson Law the U.S. Army War College. In this exercise, teams of Dickinson Law and U.S. Army War College students attempt to resolve an international cyberspace dispute. Full story

Lucy Johnston-Walsh CLINICAL PROFESSOR JOHNSTON-WALSH’S FORTHCOMING ARTICLE

January 2021 — Clinical Professor Lucy Johnston-Walsh’s forthcoming article will be published in the Seattle Journal for Social Justice in March 2021. The article is entitled “Life is a Highway: Addressing Legal Obstacles to Foster Youth Driving.” Full story

William Butler PROFESSOR BUTLER IS HONORARY PRESIDENT OF MOZOLIN READINGS

January 2021 — Professor William E. Butler, who serves as Honorary President of the Mozolin Readings, recently opened its 2020 annual proceedings with an address on artificial intelligence and the law of the sea. These proceedings are held annually at the Moscow Kutafin State Legal Academy. Full story

Medha Makhlouf PROFESSOR MAKHLOUF CO-AUTHORS OP-ED ON VACCINE EQUITY FOR NONCITIZENS

January 2021 — Professor Medha D. Makhlouf recently co-authored an op-ed in The Hill that advocates for the equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccine to noncitizens. Professor Makhlouf’s co-authors were Representative Raúl M. Grijalva of Arizona and two of her cohort members in the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity, Dr. Megan Srinivas and Professor Gilberto Lopez. Full story

Dermot Groome PROFESSOR GROOME PRESENTS VICTIM DRIVEN INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE TO THE STIMSON CENTER

January 2021 — Professor Dermot Groome was invited to present his research to the Atrocity Study Prevention Group of the Stimson Center, a nonprofit, non-partisan think tank devoted to international peace and security. Groome presented Victim Driven International Justice (VDIJ), his idea for an alternative justice mechanism that uncouples justice for the victims of serious international crimes from the geo-political forces that dictate whether the international community supports international justice in a particular instance. Raff Donelson PROFESSOR DONELSON RECENTLY LECTURED ON BLACKS, COPS & THE STATE OF NATURE AT PRINCETON UNIVERSITY
