Practice Your Practice

Students in courtroom

Lawyers learn by doing. Our in-house clinics, externships, and semester-in-practice programs will put your lawyering skills to the test from the very start — giving you national and international perspective. And our flagship law review and moot court competitions let you expand your studies while collaborating with your classmates.

During your first year, you will have the opportunity to participate in an intake interview, and to conduct a simulated client interview with the oversight of supervising attorneys. And in your second and third years, you can intern at our Community Law Clinic, Children’s Advocacy Clinic, or Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic.

Perfectly situated.
Our hometown of Carlisle is your springboard to all kinds of externship and networking opportunities on the East Coast. Spend a semester in Washington, D.C., at the International Justice Program in The Hague, Netherlands, or Harrisburg — the professional hub and capital of Pennsylvania — where you’ll work alongside policy makers and practitioners. In addition, students may propose individualized, immersive experiences in other settings, which may be approved in appropriate circumstances.
