January 7, 2020 — An interdisciplinary team of researchers is inviting scholars to submit papers for a workshop to address the complex relationship between privacy, technology and vulnerability.

November 21, 2019 — On college campuses across the country, food insecurity—the lack of reliable access to sufficient quantities of affordable, nutritious food—is a serious problem. In a study conducted earlier this year by the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice, almost half of the college students surveyed (48%) reported food insecurity occurred in the previous 30-day period. The challenge of food insecurity as well as basic needs insecurity among college students is also prevalent in the law student population.

Dermot Groome DICKINSON LAW COMMUNITY REFLECTS ON THE HUMAN AND LEGAL COSTS OF ATROCITY CRIMES

November 2019 — Atrocity crimes and their legal implications have been in the news of late. Last year, then-U.S. national security adviser John Bolton set off a national debate when he criticized the function of the International Criminal Court, whose stated mission is to punish and deter atrocity crimes. Penn State Dickinson Law Professor Dermot Groome has seen the personal, moral and legal implications of atrocity crimes firsthand.

Books DICKINSON LAW TO HOST ONE-DAY LEGAL RESEARCH AND WRITING WORKSHOP

November 13, 2019 — Penn State Dickinson Law, in conjunction with the Legal Writing Institute, will host "Dismantling the Separate But Equal Paradigm: Integrating Legal Research and Writing into the Law School Curriculum" from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, in the Apfelbaum Family Courtroom and Auditorium, Lewis Katz Hall, Dickinson Law. This one-day workshop is designed for legal writing professors and law librarians. Registration is required by Monday, December 2 for this event.

National diversity seminar exposes pre-law students to rigors of first year of law school

October 11, 2019 — Penn State Dickinson Law was selected to host the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) 2020 Pre-Law Summer Institute from June 15 to July 12, 2020.  CLEO is the longest-serving national organization committed to diversity in the legal profession.

October 3, 2019 — Dickinson Law Review will present "Crisis of Authority: The Effects of Federalism on Opioid Policy," from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, in the Apfelbaum Family Courtroom and Auditorium, Lewis Katz Hall, Dickinson Law. The annual symposium will focus on the legal challenges faced when developing opioid use policy under the United States federalist system by highlighting areas of overlapping or fractured authority.

Students in class DICKINSON LAW NOW ACCEPTING GRADUATE RECORDS EXAMINATIONS

September 26, 2019 — Under the new leadership of Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway, Dickinson Law is now accepting Graduate Records Examinations (GRE). Historically, the Law School has only accepted the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). Dickinson Law will continue to accept the LSAT and to support Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) initiatives to increase access to legal education. Accepting both tests provides a benefit to prospective law students.
