PROFESSOR WILLIAMS APPOINTED TO THE ATTORNEY/CLIENT ARBITRATION BOARD OF THE D.C. BAR July 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams has been appointed by the Board of Governors of the D.C. Bar to serve on its Attorney/Client Arbitration Board (ACAB). As a member of this standing committee, Prof. Williams will participate in overseeing the services that the D.C. Bar provides to its members and their clients to resolve disputes about legal fees. She joins the ACAB Board after serving as a volunteer arbitrator in its fee dispute resolution program. Read more |

PROFESSOR EMERITA LAUREL TERRY PARTICIPATES IN IBA RETREAT June 2022 — Professor Emerita Laurel S. Terry recently participated in the annual retreat of the International Bar Association’s BIC International Trade in Legal Services Committee. The IBA BIC ITILS retreat was held in person in Geneva, Switzerland on June 16, 2022 and by Zoom. The Retreat took place during the World Trade Organization’s 12th Ministerial Meeting. Read more |

PROFESSOR MAKHLOUF PRESENTS AT ANNUAL HEALTH LAW PROFESSORS CONFERENCE June 2022 — Professor Medha D. Makhlouf traveled to the 45th Annual Health Law Professors Conference, which took place from June 1-3, 2022, at the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law of Arizona State University. There, she attended her first meeting as a Board Member of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics (ASLME); facilitated discussion at the Jay Healey Teaching Session; and participated in a panel discussion focused on public health scholarship and curriculum.
