PROFESSOR BADISSY JOINS ENERGY FOR GROWTH HUB AS ADVISOR May 2020 — Professor Mohamed Rali Badissy recently was invited to join the nonprofit organization Energy for Growth Hub as an advisor on energy finance. The Energy for Growth Hub is comprised of scholars and advocates from leading universities, think tanks, and other organizations around the world, including Stanford, MIT, Columbia, Michigan, UC-Berkeley, Rice, Colorado School of Mines, and Chicago, the World Bank, and think tanks in Abuja, Accra, Bangkok, Cape Town, Jakarta, Nairobi, New Delhi, and Washington. DICKINSON LAW WELCOMES LEGAL SCHOLAR TO FACULTY May 2020 — Raff Donelson has been named assistant professor of law, Penn State Dickinson Law, effective June 1, 2020. Currently assistant professor of law and philosophy at Louisiana State University, Donelson will teach constitutional law, criminal procedure, and jurisprudence at Dickinson Law. |

PROFESSOR MAKHLOUF CONTRIBUTES TO NEW VOLUME EXAMINING THE PHILOSOPHICAL FRAMING OF DISABILITY April 2020 — This month, Cambridge University Press published Disability, Health, Law and Bioethics, an edited volume based on the 2018 annual conference of the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics at Harvard Law School. The volume examines how different frameworks for understanding disability can affect medical, legal, and social structures. Professor Makhlouf’s chapter in the volume analyzes the treatment of disability within U.S. immigration law. Full story |

PROFESSOR JOHNSTON-WALSH HELPS CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY STUDENTS DEVELOP A BLOG TO ADDRESS IMPACT OF PANDEMIC April 2020 — As the pandemic spread across our country, Children’s Advocacy Clinic students buckled down to analyze the impact of the pandemic on their clients, as well as foster youth across the state.
