PENN STATE DICKINSON LAW HONORS CARLISLE FACULTY AND STAFF AT ANNUAL EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
June 2025—Penn State Dickinson Law recently held its annual employee appreciation luncheon at the Carlisle location, honoring faculty and staff for service milestones and outstanding service to the Law School.
Assistant Director of Student Services Kalene Faircloth received the Patricia Amadure Memorial Award, which honors full-time staff members who have been employed by the law school for at least three years and exemplify qualities of industriousness, good humor, dedication, and loyalty to the law school, its students, and/or alumni.
“Whenever I see Kalene is in charge of an event, I know it will go well,” said one nominator. “She works incredibly hard and is much appreciated by the students. Kalene is truly deserving of this recognition!”
“Kalene is extremely deserving of the Patricia Amadure Memorial Award,” said Penn State Dickinson Law Director of Marketing & Communications Devan Drabik-Frey, another nominator. “She is clearly dedicated to our Law School community and incredibly supportive of our student body. Most importantly, Kalene is always the first to volunteer and lend a helping hand to members of our staff, faculty, and other departments. Just this past year, Kalene stepped in to organize multiple alumni events, volunteered at numerous Law School events, and worked long hours to guide student organizations through the reunification process.”
Web designer Sherry Whitlock, who is retiring in June after 42 years at the Law School, was lauded for her long tenure and unflagging dedication to keeping the website updated. She is a past recipient of the Amadure award.
Faculty and staff members were also recognized for service milestones. Two—Emeritus Dean and Professor of Law Gary S. Gildin, the Hon. G. Thomas and Anne G. Miller Chair in Advocacy and director of the Center for Public Interest Law and Advocacy, and Multimedia Specialist Thomas Dennis—had at least four decades of service, with Gildin at 45 and Dennis at 40.
