Karen Galbraith, LSW, is the social work supervisor at the Children’s Advocacy Clinic, a multidisciplinary program that partners law students with graduate-level social work students to meet the complex needs of their clients. Under her supervision, social work students meet with clients, consult on cases, and work collaboratively to identify micro- and macro-level solutions to improve the lives of the Clinic’s child and adolescent clients.
In addition to her work with the Clinic, Galbraith is the training projects coordinator at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, where her work focuses on enhancing the capacity of the state’s criminal justice systems to effectively respond to cases of sexual violence. At PCAR, she is responsible for developing resources and providing training and technical assistance, and serves on numerous statewide advisory committees and working groups, including the Office of the Attorney General’s Working Group on Campus Sexual Assault, and the Statewide Human Trafficking Advisory Committee. Galbraith also has years of experience providing direct services to children and adults who have experienced trauma and abuse.
Galbraith is a graduate of Muhlenberg College (B.A.) and Shippensburg University (M.S.W.), where she is an adjunct professor and has taught a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
