Orientation DICKINSON LAW WELCOMES 1L AND LL.M. STUDENTS

August 2022 — Penn State Dickinson Law welcomed members of the Class of 2025 and Master of Laws students to campus for the first full day of orientation on August 18. The day started with a Convocation ceremony that welcomed scholars to the Dickinson Law family, as well as sessions on Practicing Greatness in Law School: Thriving in Law School Student Panel; Practicing Greatness in Society: Being Inclusive and Professional about Differing Viewpoints; Practicing Greatness in Your Professional Identity: Introduction to Career Services and Professional Development; and Practicing Greatness as Future Alumni. Read more

Brett Conway BRETT CONWAY JOINS DICKINSON LAW AS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

August 2022 — Brett Conway enjoys learning new things. While finishing his Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) at the University of Pittsburgh earlier this year, he served an internship with Confluence Ballet Company, which embraces a vision to “create dance free from the constraints of racial inequity and stigmas surrounding body type.” The organization had recently moved to a new studio. Tom Lee TOM LEE RISES TO DIRECTOR OF CAREER SERVICES AT DICKINSON LAW

August 2022 — Tom Lee began working at Penn State Dickinson Law in March of 2020. “I started my job as assistant director of career services on a Monday during the third week of March. I was in the building for two days before it was shut down due to COVID-19,” said Lee. “I was told, ‘Everyone is going home. We will see you in a couple of weeks.’ Then it was almost two years later before we came back to in-person.” Read more

Danielle M. Conway DEAN DANIELLE CONWAY TO BE HONORED AS A 2022 NATIONAL HBCU PRE-LAW HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE

August 2022 — Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway will be honored this year as a 2022 National HBCU Pre-Law Hall of Fame Inductee. Dean Conway will be recognized at The National HBCU Pre-Law Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Aspiring Lawyers Pinning Ceremony on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. August 2022 — Last year, Penn State Dickinson Law Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway unveiled a project to a close friend, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, that had been long in the conception and planning stages. Conway instinctively knew that she could trust Roosevelt to give her honest and critical feedback. Conway outlined the concept for an institute offering organizations across the country systems design-based approaches to implementing antiracist practices, processes and policies throughout their functions. Dean Danielle Conway DICKINSON LAW SURPASSES CAMPAIGN GOAL BY RAISING MORE THAN $16.9 MILLION

July 2022 — With the final gift logged on June 30, the last day of a six-year campaign across the University entitled A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence, Penn State Dickinson Law more than achieved its goal. Read more

Building DICKINSON LAW HOSTS THIRD CONSECUTIVE NATIONAL DIVERSITY PIPELINE PROGRAM

July 2022 — For the third consecutive year, Penn State Dickinson Law was selected by the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) to host its annual Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI). This year’s virtual program was held May 23 through June 30. Funding for the program was provided through grants from CLEO and Penn State’s Equal Opportunity Planning Committee (EOPC). Read more

Building DICKINSON LAW’S KELLY RIMMER RECEIVES 2022 DIVERSITY & INCLUSION AWARD

June 24, 2022 — Director of Development and Alumni Affairs Kelly Rimmer received the 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Award from Penn State’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations during a division-wide awards ceremony in May held at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center on the University Park campus. Sign FAMILY CREATES BARRY J. NACE CLASS OF 1969 SCHOLARSHIP TO HONOR DEEP CONNECTIONS TO DICKINSON LAW

June 17, 2022 — Penn State Dickinson Law became a family affair for Barry J. Nace (class of 1969) and his youngest son, Matthew A. Nace (class of 2008). Both attended the Law School after graduating from Dickinson College as undergraduates. They shared a fondness for Carlisle and a passion for the law sparked by their professors and classmates.
