PROFESSOR MEDHA D. MAKHLOUF PRESENTS AT AALS APPOINTMENTS COMMITTEE WORKSHOP August 2021 — The Association of American Law Schools (AALS) held a virtual Appointments Committee Workshop on August 5, designed to provide members of Appointments Committees at law schools across the country with useful information about changing practices in academic hiring. Professor Medha D. Makhlouf, who has served as Chair of Penn State Dickinson Law’s Appointments Committee for the past two years and will continue in the role this academic year, was invited to present at the workshop. DEAN DODGE APPOINTED CHAIR-ELECT OF AALS STUDENT SERVICES SECTION July 2021 — Jeffrey A. Dodge, Associate Dean for Academic & Student Services, Assistant Professor, and Joseph H. Goldstein Faculty Scholar, was recently appointed to serve as chair-elect of Association of American Law Schools Student Services Section. PROFESSOR GERKE CO-AUTHORS AN ESSAY IN STAT NEWS July 2021 — Professor Sara Gerke is co-author of a “First Opinion” essay entitled Explaining Medical AI Is Easier Said Than Done in STAT News, which is an award-winning source of news about health, medicine, and scientific discovery. Professor Gerke’s essay, which was written with Boris Babic with help from Glenn Cohen and Theodoros Evgeniou, builds on their article that recently was published in Science. Full story |

Gildin recently spoke at the Training Conference on Rhetoric, Persuasion, and Implicit Bias hosted by Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
