June 2022 — Professor Medha D. Makhlouf traveled to the 45th Annual Health Law Professors Conference, which took place from June 1-3, 2022, at the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law of Arizona State University. There, she attended her first meeting as a Board Member of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics (ASLME); facilitated discussion at the Jay Healey Teaching Session; and participated in a panel discussion focused on public health scholarship and curriculum. June 2022 — Professor Emerita Laurel S. Terry recently spoke at the 47th ABA National Conference on Professional Responsibility sponsored by the ABA Center on Professional Responsibility. She moderated a panel entitled, Exploring New Models of Legal Services Regulation: What Makes Sense in Our Changing World?, and spoke at two additional events. Full story

May 2022 — Professor Medha D. Makhlouf facilitated a workshop she organized at the annual Conference on Clinical Legal Education titled “Lessons for Clinicians from The Art of Gathering and Beyond.” The workshop described and modeled strategies for enhancing clinical gatherings of all kinds, including supervision and evaluation sessions, staff meetings, celebrations, and virtual and in-person convenings. It was inspired by the book, The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why it Matters, by Priya Parker. Full story

May 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams has accepted an invitation to present her work-in-progress, Regulatory Personhood: The Elixir For Auditor Oversight Redundancy Between the SEC and the PCAOB, at the 2022 National Business Law Scholars Conference (NBLSC) to be held June 16 and 17 at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. This annual conference draws legal scholars from across the U.S. and around the world. Read more

Makhlouf was interviewed on the Jaharis Podcast on Health & IP about her motivation for studying issues at the intersection of health and immigration law, her forthcoming article in the Boston University Law Review, and the advice she gives students who want to pursue a career in health law. March 2022 — Professor Laurel S. Terry, who is the H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair in Law and Professor of Law Emerita, recently received the 2022 Hon. Sylvia H. Rambo Award during a ceremony held at Penn State Dickinson Law.  The Rambo Award is presented annually by the Penn State Dickinson Law Women’s Law Caucus to a woman in the legal profession who has had a distinguished career and who, by example, has made the professional success of other women more likely.
