September 2022 — In advance of a hearings held on September 8 by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Bureau released its “Issue Spotlight” report, citing Penn State Dickinson Law Professor Katherine C. Pearson’s research on nursing home debt collection issues, including her article published in the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform on “The Responsible Thing to Do about Responsible Party Provisions in Nursing Home Agreements.” Full story

September 2022 — Professor Samantha Prince led the inaugural Veteran Entrepreneur Legal Pop-up Clinic held at Dickinson Law. Greece PROFESSOR MAKHLOUF TO ATTEND CONVENING ON DISPLACEMENT AND HEALTH IN GREECE

September 2022 — Professor Medha D. Makhlouf was selected to attend the upcoming Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity (AFHE) Convening on Displacement & Health, from September 19-23, 2022 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Convening will host twenty Senior Fellows whose work focuses on issues of refugee and immigrant health, mental health, and trauma-informed care. Full story

September 2022 — Professor Laurel S. Terry, who is the H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair in Law and Professor of Law Emerita, recently provided a second set of oral and written comments to the American Bar Association regarding its efforts to develop a client due diligence ethics rule. Her comments addressed the June 28, 2022 Second Discussion Draft that proposed adding new language to Rule 1.2(d) of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Full story

September 2022 — Professor Medha D. Makhlouf recently co-authored an article, “Immigration Reforms as Health Policy,” in the Saint Louis University Journal of Health Law & Policy. The article was published in a symposium issue titled “Health Care After the 2020 Election: The Path: Forward,” which focuses on the most important post-election opportunities to advance health access and health equity. Professor Makhlouf’s co-author is Patrick Glen, Senior Litigation Counsel with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Immigration Litigation and an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center.
