PROFESSOR SAMANTHA PRINCE’S ESSAY LISTED AS ONE OF TOP CONTRIBUTOR ESSAYS IN 2023
February 2023 — Professor Samantha Prince’s essay, “ERISA Plan Fiduciaries and ESG Factors,” published in Penn Law’s The Regulatory Review, was listed as one of the “Top Contributor Essays in 2023.” The essays were chosen based on the number of page views during the year. Professor Prince’s essay was published in April, 2023.
Professor Prince’s essay follows her previous scholarship in employee benefits policy. In 2023, Prince published an article on the development of a new employee benefit in response to the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization — abortion-related travel benefits. She has also examined how employee turnover and vesting schedules affect the retirement security of American workers.
Professor Samantha Prince is an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of Legal Analysis & Writing at Dickinson Law. She has a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and was a partner in a regional law firm where she handled transactional matters that ranged from an initial public offering to regular representation of a publicly-traded company. Most of her clients were small to medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs, including start-ups. A significant part of her practice was in employee benefits including retirement plan design and operation. She is an expert in company benefits schemes and retirement plans. In furtherance of her interest in aiding entrepreneurs, she is the founder and moderator of the Inside Entrepreneurship Law blog. Her research mainly comprises 401(k) plans and other employee benefits, and app-based work.
