program PROFESSOR EMERITA TERRY ATTENDS 9TH CIRCUIT MEMORIAL HONORING JUDGE GOODWIN

April 2023 — Professor Emerita Laurel S. Terry recently attended the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit’s memorial session honoring Judge Alfred T. Goodwin, for whom she clerked in 1980-81. When Chief Judge Emeritus Goodwin died on December 27, 2022, he was the oldest federal judge in the country, as well as the longest-serving current federal judge. Full story

April 2023 — On the morning of Saturday, April 15, 2023, an interdisciplinary group of Penn State students, faculty, and medical residents met at The Boys & Girls Club of Harrisburg to engage in a day of experiential learning focused on the theme “Making the Invisible Visible.” This second iteration of the Health Equity Immersion, first piloted in October 2022, was a component of the curriculum for students enrolled in Penn State Dickinson Law’s Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic. Dermot Groome GROOME GIVES SPEECH TO BALTIMORE COUNCIL ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS

April 2023 — Professor Dermot Groome was recently invited to address the Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs. His speech, “Closing the Impunity Gap for War Crimes in Ukraine” considered how the international legal principle of universal jurisdiction might be used to facilitate greater accountability for international crimes committed in Ukraine.
