PROFESSOR SAMANTHA PRINCE INTERVIEWED ON KCBS ABOUT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION’S BAN ON NON-COMPETES
May 2024 — Professor Samantha Prince was recently interviewed live on KCBS News Radio, San Francisco about the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC’s) recent ban on non-competition agreements. Prince fielded questions varying from which industries are impacted to what legal challenges will surface.
The FTC’s rule bans most non-compete clauses and agreements as an unfair method of competition. As mentioned previously, last year when the FTC was seeking comment for its proposed rule, Prof. Prince was joined by law professors and law students from across the nation in a public comment responding to the proposal.
Professor Prince collaborated with law students at the Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic, William S. Boyd Law School, University of Nevada, Las Vegas to produce the comments. Law professors from ten law schools together with law students from UNLV and Penn State Dickinson Law joined in the comment.
