PROFESSOR EMERITA TERRY UPDATES AND ADDS A “RESEARCH AREAS” PAGE TO HER PERSONAL WEBPAGE May 2024 — Professor Emerita Laurel Terry recently completed updating her personal webpage. In addition to the “Publications” and “Presentation Slides” menu items, Professor Terry’s updated personal webpage now includes a link to a webpage entitled “Research Areas.” This Research Areas webpage identifies various topics on which Professor Terry has worked and consolidates for each topic, her relevant law review articles, presentation slides, essays, and e-resources. PROFESSOR SAMANTHA PRINCE AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT ALYSSA BOOB FILE PUBLIC COMMENTS ON EFFECTIVENESS OF PUBLIC DISCLOSURES WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY May 2024 — Professor Samantha J. Prince, joined by a member of her research team, Alyssa Boob ’25, authored a public comment responding to the Department of Treasury’s, Department of Labor’s and the PBGC’s request for information to improve the effectiveness of existing reporting and disclosure requirements for certain Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) governed and Internal Revenue Code qualified plans. PENN STATE DICKINSON LAW PROFESSOR KATHERINE C. PEARSON RECEIVES FULBRIGHT U.S. SCHOLAR AWARD FOR 2024-2025 May 2024 — Katherine C. Pearson, Professor of Law and the Arthur L. and Sandra S. Piccone Faculty Scholar at Penn State Dickinson Law, has received a Fulbright Canada Scholar Program award. Professor Pearson will serve as the 2024-2025 Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Health Law, Policy and Ethics at the University of Ottawa. Full story |

PROFESSOR EMERITA LAUREL TERRY ATTENDS PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY CONFERENCE May 2024 — Professor Emerita Laurel Terry recently attended the “Workshop on Professional Identity Formation in the Professional Responsibility Course” held at St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis. Although “Professional Identity” has been an important topic for many years, it is receiving more attention lately because of changes to ABA Standard 303(b)(3). This section of the ABA Standards for Approval of Law Schools was added in February 2022 and requires ABA-accredited law schools to “provide substantial opportunities to students for…the development of a professional identity.” Full story |

PROFESSOR AMY GAUDION’S WORK-IN-PROGRESS SELECTED FOR INDIANA LAW JOURNAL 2024 SYMPOSIUM May 2024 — Professor Amy Gaudion’s work-in-progress, “Discord and the Pentagon’s Watch Dog: Countering Violent Extremism in the U.S. Military from Within,” was accepted for inclusion in the Indiana Law Journal’s Fall 2024 symposium on Law and Technology at the Crossroads: A Centennial Summit.
