Sarah J. Williams PROFESSOR WILLIAMS PRESENTS HER CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECT ON CONGRESSIONAL SECURITIES TRADING AT THE 2023 NATIONAL BUSINESS LAW SCHOLARS CONFERENCE

June 2023 — Professor Sarah Williams attended the 2023 National Business Law Scholars Conference held June 15-16 at the University of Tennessee College of Law. She presented her current work-in-progress, “Regulating Congressional Insider Trading: The Rotten Egg Approach.” This research project contemplates the use of the disclosure provisions of the federal securities laws, rather than its antifraud provisions, to address concerns of possible insider trading by members of Congress. Sarah Williams PROFESSOR SARAH WILLIAMS’ SECOND WORK IN THE AREA OF AUDITOR REGULATION TO BE PUBLISHED BY ST. JOHN’S LAW REVIEW

October 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams has accepted an offer from St. John’s Law Review to publish her recent article, “Regulatory Personhood: The Elixir for Redundancy Between the SEC and the PCAOB.” Her article will appear in print in the fall of 2023. Full story

Sarah Williams PROFESSOR WILLIAMS APPOINTED TO THE ATTORNEY/CLIENT ARBITRATION BOARD OF THE D.C. BAR

July 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams has been appointed by the Board of Governors of the D.C. Bar to serve on its Attorney/Client Arbitration Board (ACAB). As a member of this standing committee, Prof. Williams will participate in overseeing the services that the D.C. Bar provides to its members and their clients to resolve disputes about legal fees. She joins the ACAB Board after serving as a volunteer arbitrator in its fee dispute resolution program. Read more

May 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams has accepted an invitation to present her work-in-progress, Regulatory Personhood: The Elixir For Auditor Oversight Redundancy Between the SEC and the PCAOB, at the 2022 National Business Law Scholars Conference (NBLSC) to be held June 16 and 17 at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. February 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams recently authored the first in a series of planned articles exploring the successful formula for effective auditor oversight. Her article, titled “The Alchemy of Effective Auditor Oversight,” evaluates the verification process through which accounting firms are approved to audit public companies. Full story
