PROFESSOR SARAH WILLIAMS APPOINTED TO THE ATTORNEY/CLIENT ARBITRATION BOARD OF THE D.C. BAR

Sarah WilliamsJuly 2022 — The D.C. Bar Board of Governors has elected Professor Sarah Williams to the Attorney/Client Arbitration Board (ACAB). As a member of this standing committee, Professor Williams will participate in overseeing the fee dispute services that the D.C. Bar provides to its members and their clients. She will also consider revisions to the rules of procedure that govern the arbitration process, and support the training programs delivered to volunteer arbitrators. After joining the ACAB Board, Professor Williams will continue to serve as a volunteer in the D.C. Bar’s arbitration program.


Professor Williams current serves as an Assistant Professor at Penn State Dickinson Law, where her research focuses on the intersection of federal securities regulation and accounting. Prior to joining Dickinson Law, Professor Williams practiced law as a securities regulator, serving in senior positions at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the Office of General Counsel at NASD (now FINRA), and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Professor Williams began her legal career as an associate lawyer at Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C. She serves as a volunteer arbitrator for the D.C. Bar.
