About O’Neill
Ken O’Neill’s career in the legal field spans more than 35 years and included managing various types of auto, homeowners, special investigation, first party and commercial liability cases before being promoted to serve as Allstate Insurance Company’s Managing Attorney for Pennsylvania. His career with Allstate began in the claims department, before joining Allstate’s Litigation Services with responsibilities as a Paralegal, Unit Manager, Trial Attorney, and subsequently Lead Counsel in Philadelphia, Allentown and Pittsburgh. Throughout his legal career he has tried numerous cases to verdict in counties across the Commonwealth. Previously, Ken held management positions in real estate management and manufacturing.
Ken is admitted to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He completed the National Institute for Trial Advocacy training and is a member of both the Montgomery County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He served as a founding member and both the Chair and Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Insurance Staff Attorney Committee. and is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Ken served as a Governing Board Member for the Pennsylvania Financial Responsibility Assigned Claims Plan.
Ken has also served as an adjunct professor teaching Principles of Management, Principles of Insurance, and Investigations and Interviewing. In addition, he has provided continuing education seminars on insurance fundamentals, and presentations on the dangers and impact of drinking and driving, at numerous high schools in the greater Philadelphia area. During his tenure with Allstate, Ken helped create and deliver ongoing legal training and professional development programs and presentations for its Legal Division and Claims.
Ken is an active member of the community having, among other things, served on many boards and civic committees as well as the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Ken has also been actively involved in coaching baseball, football and basketball, most recently contributing as an assistant coach for both American Legion Youth Baseball and Pennridge Central Middle School Boys basketball, and is actively working with several youth development, civic and mentoring groups.

National Institute for Trial Advocacy (Course Completion and Certificate 1999)
Penn State Dickinson Law and Penn State Law are reunifying to operate as Penn State University’s single law school, which will be known as Penn State Dickinson Law. While ABA approval for the reunification is pending, both schools are currently fully accredited. We submitted an application for acquiescence to operate as a single law school in July 2024 and plan to enroll a unified class in Fall 2025. Once reunification is complete, the separate faculties of each school will be members of the reunified Penn State Dickinson Law faculty.
