Samantha Prince PROFESSOR PRINCE IS AWARDED GRANT TO CREATE OPEN-SOURCE COURSE MATERIALS FOR HER ENTREPRENEURSHIP LAW: OPERATIONAL ISSUES COURSE

Amy Gaudion PROFESSOR GAUDION’S STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN JOINT CYBERSPACE EXERCISE WITH THE U.S. ARMY WAR COLLEGE

February 2022 — Professor Amy Gaudion’s students recently participated in the 2022 Joint Cyberspace Law & Policy Simulation, an annual collaboration between Penn State Dickinson Law and the U.S. Army War College. In this simulation, now in its fifth year, teams of Dickinson Law and U.S. Army War College students work on interdisciplinary teams to resolve an international cyberspace dispute. Full story

Laurel S. Terry PROFESSOR EMERITA TERRY PROVIDES COMMENTS TO ABA ON PROPOSED AML RULE

February 2022 — Professor Laurel S. Terry, who is the H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair in Law and Professor of Law Emerita, recently provided oral and written comments to the American Bar Association regarding a proposed new ethics rule.  Her comments addressed a Dec. 15, 2021 ABA Discussion Draft that proposed adding anti-money laundering [AML] due diligence language to the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct.  Full story

Danielle M. Conway DEAN CONWAY TO SPEAK AT J. SHERWOOD McGINNIS, JR. WAR, PEACE AND JUSTICE SYMPOSIUM

February 2022 — Danielle M. Conway, Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law at Penn State Dickinson Law, will participate in a panel discussion on “Transforming Conflict: Rethinking War, Peace, and Justice” as part of the J. Sherwood McGinnis Jr. War, Peace and Justice Symposium. The program will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium, Dickinson College, Carlisle and is free and open to the public. Sarah Williams PROFESSOR WILLIAMS PUBLISHES ARTICLE EXAMINING THE REGULATION OF PUBLIC COMPANY AUDIT FIRMS

February 2022 — Professor Sarah Williams recently authored the first in a series of planned articles exploring the successful formula for effective auditor oversight. Her article, titled “The Alchemy of Effective Auditor Oversight,” evaluates the verification process through which accounting firms are approved to audit public companies. Full story

Medha Makhlouf PROFESSOR MAKHLOUF TO PRESENT AT SYMPOSIUM ON HEALTH LAW AND ANTI-RACISM

February 2022 — On March 30, 2022, Professor Medha Makhlouf will present her paper on the role of medical-legal partnerships (MLPs) in advancing racial justice at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Research presented at the symposium, titled “Health Law and Anti-Racism: Reckoning and Response,” will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics in spring 2022.
