DICKINSON LAW ANNOUNCES NEW ASSOCIATE DEAN OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
February 15, 2022 — Penn State Dickinson Law is pleased to welcome Mae C. Quinn to its resident faculty beginning July 1, 2022. Quinn will join Dickinson Law as Professor of Law and Associate Dean of Experiential Learning.
“I am excited to welcome Professor Mae Quinn to Dickinson Law to serve as the inaugural Associate Dean of Experiential Learning. Professor Quinn’s scholarship, innovative social justice initiatives, and progressive pedagogy will enrich the experiences of the Dickinson Law community,” said Dickinson Law Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway.
Professor Quinn comes to Dickinson Law after serving as Professor of Law and Director of the Youth Justice Clinic at the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. Her impact teaching and litigating have been highlighted by both National Public Radio and The Washington Post.

Consistently committed to experience-based legal education rooted in real-world justice concerns, Dickinson Law is leading the way in creative approaches to teaching, learning, and serving. I am thrilled to become a part of its diverse community of engaged scholars and change agents,” said Quinn.
Professor Quinn’s advocacy efforts and youth justice initiatives have contributed to training materials produced by the National Juvenile Defender Center and United States Department of Justice reform efforts. Quinn has also served as an expert witness before the Ferguson Commission, legislative bodies, and in other settings; in addition, she has trained legal professionals across the country at programs like the Darrow-Baldus Criminal Defense College, Ethical Society of Police, National Association of Children’s Counsel, and National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Professor Quinn has also taught at Georgetown University Law Center, the University of Florida Levin College of Law, University of Tennessee College of Law, Penn State Law, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and as a Fulbright Senior Specialist at law schools in Honduras.
Professor Quinn’s scholarship, cited widely by courts, advocates, and academics alike, has been published in leading journals including the Boston College Law Review, BYU Law Review, Iowa Law Review, Wake Forest Law Review, Washington and Lee Law Review, Harvard Journal of Gender and Law, and New York University Review of Law and Social Change.
