Life Before Dickinson Law:
Born in the beautiful country of Himalayas with different geographical structures and multi ethnicity and culture, I have always been fond of visiting to different places in the country. I volunteered in the remote areas of Nepal as a great learning opportunity to spread legal awareness that protect women and minorities. As I finished my bachelor’s in Business Management and lLw (BBM LLB) in 2020, I started looking out for jobs particularly because of my keen interest in Litigation. As a fresh graduate I wanted to explore into various subjects matters if the profession thus, I started as an Associate where I learn to conduct case briefs, dealing with clients and learnt ethical professionals standards. For a year I practiced as a licensed lawyer and I was working in the trenches in the courtrooms, writing motions, pleasing as a general practitioner in cases that involved infringement of individual rights mostly in criminal law, family law and corporate law. I learned the importance of advocacy, the power of litigation, and requirement for legal awareness for the protection of individual rights.
Career Focus:
Graduating from such a prestigious university would provide me with a sense of intellectual authority amongst my peers, colleagues and seniors therefore, bettering my chances of bringing about national/international institutional and policy changes that I desire to see a better community as a International criminal lawyer.
Why I chose Penn State Dickinson Law:
During my practicing years in Nepal I realized the importance of legal research in writing motions and articles. Joining Penn State Dickinson Law would open a vast academic world for deeper and better research in the field of law. This in turn, would immensely increase my capacity to make more sound calls and judgements in the cases I take. As the college is a closed community in itself, I believe it would help me network better and in depth. I would also like to believe that I would get more focused attention from the faculty as I pursue my scholastic endeavors in the college.
