Theresa K. Tarves
Associate Director of the Law Library and Professor of Legal Research and Director, Legal-Tech Virtual LabAs Associate Director of the Law Library, Theresa K. Tarves is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of the Law Library. She assists the associate dean and director of the Law Library with long-range planning and budget administration, as well as project identification and implementation. Additionally, Tarves teaches a section of the 1L Legal Research course and provides general reference and research support to library patrons. As Director of the Legal-Tech Virtual Lab, Tarves works with key stakeholders at Penn State and leading technology vendors to plan programming related to legal technology and provide students with exposure to legal technology tools to use in practice today. She was awarded the 2019 American Association of Law Libraries Innovation in Technology Award for her work with the Lab. Prior to joining Penn State Law, Tarves served as manager of research services for the Knowledge Management Division of the Philadelphia firm of Fox Rothschild, LLP. She previously served as associate counsel/compliance officer for a major medical reference laboratory in New Jersey, where she provided legal and non-legal research and legal analysis for departmental attorneys. |

Penn State Dickinson Law and Penn State Law are reunifying to operate as Penn State University’s single law school, which will be known as Penn State Dickinson Law. While ABA approval for the reunification is pending, both schools are currently fully accredited. We submitted an application for acquiescence to operate as a single law school in July 2024 and plan to enroll a unified class in Fall 2025. Once reunification is complete, the separate faculties of each school will be members of the reunified Penn State Dickinson Law faculty.
