PENN STATE DICKINSON LAW SMALL GROUP ADMISSION TO THE U.S. SUPREME COURT BAR

October 19, 2022 — Penn State Dickinson Law alumni are invited to participate in a small group admission to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar on argument day on Monday, April 17, 2023. Up to twelve (12) applicants will be included in the April 17 admission. Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE BAR:

To qualify for admission to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar under Rule 5, an applicant must have been admitted to practice in the highest court of a State, Commonwealth, Territory or Possession, or the District of Columbia for a period of at least three years immediately before the date of application; must not have been the subject of any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that three-year period, and must appear to the Court to be of good moral and professional character. Each applicant must have two sponsors and a movant. The sponsors must be members of the Bar of this Court who know you personally and are not related to you by blood or marriage. TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT YOU MUST:

  • Email Robin Langhans, director of alumni relations, CLE & special events, to secure your spot in the group;
  • Upon confirmation of your participation, Dickinson Law will provide you with further instructions including the application to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, details for reserving a hotel room the evening of Sunday, April 16, 2023, and other details related to the small group admission;
  • All paperwork and payment of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar admission fee the amount of $200 must be received by Penn State Dickinson Law no later than January 31, 2023. Failure to submit your paperwork will forfeit your spot in the small group admission process. Penn State Dickinson Law will submit a group admission application package including payment for all applicants and their materials.

Penn State Dickinson Law will coordinate a block of rooms at a preferred nightly rate at a Capitol Hill-area hotel for the evening of Sunday, April 16, 2023. Small group admissions participants must report to the U.S. Supreme Court by 7:45 a.m. on Monday, April 17.

At this time by order of the Court no personal guests may accompany applicants into the U.S. Supreme Court chamber.
