PROFESSOR WILLIAM BUTLER PUBLISHES TRANSLATION OF CIVIL CODE OF THE REPUBLIC UZBEKISTAN
June 2023 — Professor William E. Butler has translated and edited Civil Code of the Republic Uzbekistan. Talbot Publishing, an imprint of The Lawbook Exchange, announced that the book is now available to order through their site.
This book is a title in the series of Russian, Eurasian, and East European Codes of Law. The Civil Code of the Republic Uzbekistan as amended to January 1, 2023 is a central key normative legal act for foreign investors and of considerable interest to the comparative law community as a leading Central Asian model for a legal system in transition from the socialist legal tradition to a more market-oriented legal system.
Professor William Butler is the John Edward Fowler Distinguished Professor of Law at Penn State Dickinson Law; Emeritus Professor of Comparative Law, University College London; and Foreign Member, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences; Associate Member, International Academy of Comparative Law; member, American Law Institute.
