PROFESSOR DARYL LIM HAS BEEN ELECTED TO THE BOARDS OF THE US INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) ALLIANCE AND GLOBAL IP ALLIANCE
October 2022 — Professor Daryl Lim has been elected to the boards of the US Intellectual Property (IP) Alliance and Global IP Alliance. Joining a panel of IP leaders in the US and worldwide, he will help lead the conversation on efforts to raise awareness, connect innovation ecosystem stakeholders, and act as a catalyst for diversity and inclusion – allowing IP to be a tool for growth and development and a matter of everyday interest to everyone, everywhere. Together with educators, these initiatives seek to build a knowledgeable workforce by integrating IP training and skills development into K-12, university, and other education curricula across the nation.
On October 20, 2022, Professor Lim will speak at the US IP Alliance Annual Meeting on “Curriculum, Careers, and Commercialization in Schools & Universities.” The panel features leaders from the US Patent and Trademark Office, Lemelson- Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and historically black colleges and universities. It will discuss how the USIPA is bringing organizations together to take an end-to-end view of IP education and the impact of exposing students to new ideas and opportunities relating to IP.
Daryl Lim is the H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair in Law at Penn State Dickinson Law and Co-Hire at the Institute of Computational and Data Sciences at Penn State University. He also serves as Associate Dean for Research and Innovation and founding director of the IP Law and Innovation Initiative.
Professor Lim is an award-winning author, observer, and commentator of national and global trends in IP and competition policy and how they influence and are influenced by law, technology, economics, and politics. He helps policymakers, attorneys, corporate counsel, scholars, and the public to make sense of the world around them. He is a founding member of the Global IP Alliance and its local chapters in Pennsylvania and Illinois. In addition, he serves as Co-Chair of the University Education Committee in the US IP Alliance. He consults internationally on various IP and antitrust issues.
