Life Before Dickinson Law:
I am Associate Professor of Francophone and Middle Eastern Studies, and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies at Dickinson College. I hold a doctorate in Francophone Studies from Florida State University, a master’s degree in International Law and Human Rights from Université de Rouen in France and a bachelor’s degree in law from Université Saint-Joseph in Lebanon. I am an experienced scholar, educator, and advocacy worker.
Research Focus:
My research and teaching focus on international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law and terrorism, gender and law, comparative law, and law and literature.
Advice for Prospective Law Students:
As a college professor and as a mother, I did not think I would have time to pursue a doctorate in law. It turns out I was wrong. Point being, with motivation, proper structure, and mentorship, it can be done. Penn State Dickinson Law is the place for it.
