Meet Kristin L. Thomas
Academic Affairs & Career Services Coordinator
Hometown: I grew up in Taneytown, Maryland, but I have also lived in Huntingdon and Montrose, Pennsylvania, and Lakeland, Florida.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Dickinson Law? The time that I spend on a daily basis interacting with our law students is my favorite part of my role at Dickinson Law.
A Dickinson Law favorite: I love the sense of community here. Due to our small size, it is easy to develop connections between faculty, staff, and students.
Best piece of advice for students pursuing a career in law: Take time to visit the Career Services Office and meet with a career advisor on a regular basis. The more we know about your future goals, the easier it will be for us to assist you in your job search and share potential job opportunities with you.
Favorite thing to do in your spare time: I love to read, bake, plant flowers in the spring, and spend time with family.
You’d never guess…: My family has lived on the same road for over 118 years. We have a letter dating back to 1902. I was the first person in my family to not only leave the area, but also to attend college.
Life before Dickinson Law: I graduated from Juniata College with an Earth and Space Science Secondary Education degree. Prior to joining the team at Dickinson Law, I spent a short time in Florida teaching seventh grade science. After becoming engaged, I moved to Montrose, Pennsylvania, where I worked as the lead toddler room teacher at a preschool. During this time, I earned my Master’s in Student Affairs Administration.
Three words to describe yourself: Upbeat, caring, organized
Favorite book: It is so hard to pick just one! I enjoy reading historical fiction and romance novels. One of my favorite authors is Nora Roberts.
