JESSICA SERETTI NAMED PENN STATE DICKINSON LAW DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS
May 2025 — Jessica Seretti recently joined Penn State Dickinson Law as director of alumni relations. Throughout her career, the Pittsburgh native has focused on making connections and fostering relationships. She looks forward to expanding and strengthening that circle.
“I have made so many meaningful connections in my career,” said Seretti. “That web of relationships introduces you to other opportunities and new people. Coming into this new chapter, I have already reconnected with past colleagues and friends from the past 25 years who are reaching out to say congratulations or even to say we will be working together now. That is a really unexpected joy and benefit to my new position.”
Seretti’s experience ranges from interning for professional sports teams during college to working for a law firm, a nonprofit, and a renowned ballet school.
Prior to joining Penn State Dickinson Law, Seretti spent five years at Dickinson College, working as the associate director of employer relations and career development and director of employer relations. Previously, she served as marketing manager and administrative director of the distinguished summer intensive training program at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB).
She learned the value of common ties early. During her undergraduate years at Arizona State University (ASU), Seretti connected with then-sports information director Douglas Tammaro based on their shared roots in the Pittsburgh area. She served as an ASU sports information intern before landing internships with the Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Phoenix Suns.
Upon returning to Pennsylvania after graduation, she worked as a marketing associate and later led marketing and professional recruiting programs for the Pittsburgh office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, an international corporate law firm. “I really learned the business of law without being an attorney,” said Seretti. “I was originally looking for an opportunity in sports, but I realized I had to open my mindset. I would not have looked twice at the job with the law firm if I had remained in my original mindset, and I am so glad I adjusted. I met my mentor and lifelong friend Renee Siders Haviland in that position.”
As Seretti’s career flourished, she continued forming those lifelong connections. When her husband, Alan, took a job at Penn State Altoona, she had the opportunity to work in sports again as a sponsorship sales executive for two Minor League Baseball teams, the Altoona Curve and State College Spikes. Shifting her career sights to nonprofit work, Seretti joined the American Cancer Society Central PA Region, overseeing events such as the Penn State Coaches vs. Cancer campaign. “There are at least six or seven former colleagues from that time that I'm now working with within Development and Alumni Relations at Penn State,” said Seretti.
She and Alan moved to Carlisle in 2009. He became head men’s basketball coach at Dickinson College, where he is also the assistant athletic director, and she began working for CPYB, located just down the block from her husband’s school. “Carlisle is a unique, beautiful, storied town with so much character and history. It is incredible to have all these institutions — Penn State Dickinson Law, Dickinson College, CPYB, and the Army War College — all so close together. I love being here,” said Seretti.
As she settles in at Penn State Dickinson Law, she looks forward to making new connections with alumni. “We can see how important those relationships are between alumni and students and how excited and fulfilled both groups are when they work together,” said Seretti. “I’m proud to join the strong team at Penn State Dickinson Law — staff, faculty, students, and alumni — and excited for what we will accomplish together.”
She and Alan have three children. Twins Luciana and Eisley are 15, and youngest Cecelia is 11. The Serettis love dining in downtown Carlisle and cheering on their children at their many activities. When Seretti is not working, she also likes to cook, spend time outdoors, and explore places she has never visited in Carlisle.
