Legal Areas of Interest:
Environmental law, property law, international law

Undergraduate Study:
Brown University, B.A., Development Studies with a focus on small island development

Campus and Community Involvement:
1L Outlaw Representative, Penn State Dickinson Law Admissions Ambassador, Rural Law Student Association Founding Member, Women’s Law Caucus Member, Environmental Law Society Member

Life Before Penn State Dickinson Law:
I worked in rural Louisiana as both a 7th grade math teacher, then as a Program & Admissions Director for a non-profit connecting young people to post-secondary job training. Both positions really allowed me to ensure that young people in rural communities were able to access services.

A Penn State Dickinson Law Favorite:
The study rooms — I really enjoy grabbing a study room with friends because you can chat but can also concentrate a bit better than out in the library common area. We also use the study rooms for club planning since I am working on starting a new club.

Why Penn State Dickinson Law?
I came to Penn State Dickinson Law because it allowed me to remain close to family living in Central Pennsylvania. In addition to that, I really like the close-knit community of students and professors — because of the small class sizes, you’re able to get to know everyone.

Favorite Course:
Torts! It is such an interesting topic that covers all kinds of different cases, so I was entertained every time I read for class.

Advice for Prospective Law Students:
Have a bedtime — don’t stay up too long studying and make sure you do something not related to law school each day.

Something You Love About Carlisle:
At the end of first semester, a big group of friends and I all went to Fay’s Diner to celebrate finishing our first semester at law school. It was such a great way to finish up the year and spend time with friends.

On Choosing a Law School:
Go to an Admitted Students Day if you can! That way you can really get a feel for the students and the professors at the school. I committed early decision to Penn State Dickinson Law, but the Admitted Students Day confirmed for me that the community was a great space to learn and grow.

You’d Never Guess That...:
I am a big baker! Before exams, or anything stressful, I take a break from studying by baking at home. I love making cold brew cookies, pecan pies, or any new treat I see on the Great British Bake Off.

Favorite Book:
Right now, my favorite book is Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. It is such a good look into rural America and the opioid epidemic.
