Life Before Dickinson Law:
I took six years off between law school and undergrad. I was a paralegal at a plaintiff’s medical malpractice firm, and I also taught dance classes at a local studio in my hometown. 

A Dickinson Law Favorite:
The annual Barrister’s Ball 

Why Dickinson Law?:
I knew Dickinson Law was the place for me when I saw the support the school provided and the inclusive student community. The school also has a large alumni network and is close to the state capital, providing many job opportunities.

Advice for Prospective Law Students:
Be humble, kind, and open to learning. This is the beginning of your reputation as a professional. Make sure to focus on your health and personal relationships. Law school is difficult but manageable so make sure you put yourself first. 

Something You Love About Carlisle:
I enjoy the weekly farmer’s market and local shops. Carlisle is a great place to stay focused on school but is also fairly close to larger cities.

On Choosing A Law School:
Choose a place where you feel you will thrive and a place where you feel comfortable. Find programs you are interested in, especially experiential learning programs that fit your career goals. The welcoming law school community and Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic were the main factors that influenced my decision to attend Penn State Dickinson Law.

There are many paths to law school and Penn State Dickinson Law has many nontraditional law students, including me.
