ASSISTANT DEAN GISELLE SANTIBANEZ-BANIA PRESENTS AT 2025 NALSAP CONFERENCE

Giselle Santibanez-Bania June 2025 — Assistant Dean of Academic and Student Services Giselle Santibanez-Bania presented on three different topics at this year's National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals (NALSAP) Conference in Columbus, Ohio. The conference took place June 9-12, 2025, and was hosted by the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University.

Santibanez-Bania’s first panel, with Maria Saez Tatman (Washington and Lee School of Law) and Kimathi Gordon-Somers (Fordham Law), was on the topic "Does Size Matter? Creating Community in Small vs. Large Law Schools." Later that same day, she co-led a presentation with Jack Townsend (University of Miami School of Law) titled "Loving Law School: A Look at Socialization and Joy While Studying the Law." This presentation explored a scholarship topic Santibanez-Bania has been researching, involving understanding and building engagement with Gen Z and Gen Alpha students.

The following day, Santibanez-Bania moderated a panel called "Caring Without Crumbling: Recognizing and Preventing Compassion Fatigue in Legal Education Student Support Roles." This panel featured the insights and expertise from an incredible lineup of longtime student services professionals: Jennifer Espinola (University of Oregon), Jake Henry (LSU Law), David Jaffe (American WCL), and Lynn Lemoine (Mitchell Hamline).
