ARTICLE BY PROFESSOR MEDHA MAKHLOUF AND NATASHA RAPPAZZO ’24 PUBLISHED IN AMA JOURNAL OF ETHICS
August 2024 — An article co-authored by Professor Medha D. Makhlouf and Natasha Rappazzo ’24 has been published in the 2024 AMA Journal of Ethics, a peer-reviewed bioethics journal read by bioethicists, healthcare providers, educators, and health professions students. “Can Medical-Legal Partnerships Do More to Advance Reproductive Justice After Dobbs?” appears in the August issue of AMA Journal of Ethics, which features articles focusing on Standards in Medical-Legal Partnerships.
Professor Makhlouf was invited by the series editors to contribute an article. “Can Medical-Legal Partnerships Do More to Advance Reproductive Justice After Dobbs?” is modeled on an article previously written by Makhlouf on MLPs advancing racial justice.
Natasha Rappazzo co-authored the article with Makhlouf due to her expertise in reproductive justice advocacy and her familiarity with the literature. Work on the article began in fall 2023 and continued through spring 2024, at which time completed revisions were based on peer review feedback, leading to its recent publication.
