Biography
Titichia M. Jackson develops, teaches, and supports substantive bar preparation courses and courses that provide academic and law-specific skill development, including Dickinson Law’s summer supplemental bar preparation program and Fundamental Skills for the Bar Exam. She also provides individual academic success counseling to students.
As a licensed attorney and former director of bar preparation, Professor Jackson brings both legal practice experience and the practice of applying cognitive psychology in the classroom to her teaching. She collaborates with faculty to incorporate the learning concept of spaced repetition throughout Dickinson Law’s curriculum while training law students for the rigors of law school, the bar exam, and the practice of law.
Jackson began her legal career by establishing a private practice in Durham, North Carolina, focusing primarily in the area of family law, where she litigated divorce, child support, child custody, and separation cases. Prior to joining Dickinson Law, Professor Jackson served as the director of bar preparation and support for North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she also taught courses in legal reasoning and analysis, and problem solving. Prior to that, Professor Jackson served as director of legal education for BARBRI Inc. Professor Jackson is currently serving as chair of the AALS Section of Academic Support, and also serves on the Board of Directors of United Way of Carlisle.
