Practice Greatness
At its essence, the lawyering profession is one that seeks the truth, works to restore equity, and strives to make people and organizations whole again. The Penn State Dickinson Law J.D. Program is a three-year, full-time course of study offered in both our Carlisle and University Park locations. Our 1L curriculum will introduce you to both lawyering skills and foundational legal knowledge, while your upper-level years will begin to shape your career interests and professional identity through curricular offerings in a variety of practice areas.
Our Legacy is Your Opportunity
Penn State Dickinson Law is Pennsylvania’s oldest public law school, providing unparalleled access to high quality education and public service through collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and experiential learning.

Two Vibrant Locations
Consistent with the University's land grant mission of access and service, Penn State Dickinson Law offers one school with two vibrant locations: Carlisle and University Park. Both locations offer access to an affordable, high quality legal education and rich experiential, social, and cross-disciplinary academic opportunities.
Carlisle is the historic home and primary location of Penn State Dickinson Law, with unique access to the state capital in a bucolic setting. University Park is located on Penn State's largest campus, offering additional clinical and cross-disciplinary opportunities.
