Derrick Williamson teaches Energy Law & Policy and has also taught Administrative Law.
Derrick is a Member at Spilman Thomas & Battle and is Managing Member of the firm’s Greater Harrisburg (PA) office. He has practiced in the area of Public Utility and Energy Law for over 30 years, principally representing large commercial, manufacturing, industrial, and institutional consumers of electricity and natural gas before state and federal utility/energy commissions and appellate courts.
A graduate of the University of Maryland (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Duke University School of Law (Research Editor, Duke Environmental Law & Policy Forum), Derrick has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for energy law for multiple years.
Derrick is a Veteran of the United States Army. He is active in furthering Veterans' support and diversity initiatives in the legal field. He holds positions on the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as on the Equal Professional Opportunity Committee of the Dauphin County Bar Association. Derrick recently received the Clarence C. Morrison award for his dedication to diversifying the legal field.
