Life Before Penn State Dickinson Law
My academic journey began at Taibah University in Saudi Arabia, where I earned my LL.B., followed by an LL.M. from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. I then returned to Taibah University as a faculty member, teaching in the Law School for three years and working closely with students, developing curriculum, and engaging in legal initiatives.
Research Focus
My research focuses on the intersection of law and emerging technologies, a field that has become increasingly relevant as Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 objectives. Specifically, I am interested in the legal implications of autonomous vehicle technology, with a particular focus on liability. Through my S.J.D. studies, I aim to explore how legal systems can respond to the challenges posed by autonomous technologies.
Advice for Prospective S.J.D. Students
I had often heard about the loneliness and isolation that can accompany this academic journey, and I found that to be true. However, the support of Dickinson Law’s faculty and colleagues made it bearable. This experience so far has taught me that progress in research often comes gradually, and that patience, consistency, and curiosity are key to success.
