Professor Martin Skladany suggests elite universities should do more to safeguard democracy

CARLISLE, PA.—Professor Martin Skladany, Samuel Weiss Faculty Scholar and professor of law, recently published an article in Times Higher Education arguing that elite colleges should actively oppose unconstitutional acts by the administration, not just defend themselves against attacks.

“Elite U.S. universities aren’t doing enough to save democracy” argues that if we lose our constitutional rights and freedoms, universities will cease to remain true to their purpose.
