Professor Andrea J. Martin presents fellowship project at ISGAP Summer Institute at Churchill College

CARLISLE, PA—Professor Andrea J. Martin presented her fellowship project at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) Cambridge Summer Institute for the Development of Curriculum in Critical Contemporary Antisemitism Studies, held at the Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge.

A central objective of Martin’s fellowship project is to develop a Law and the Holocaust course as a replicable curricular model that can be adapted and taught at other law schools. By creating a structured legal curriculum, teaching materials, and an interdisciplinary framework for examining the Holocaust through the lens of law, the project seeks to expand opportunities for law students to study the historical consequences of legal systems that facilitated persecution and the responsibility of lawyers and legal institutions to safeguard civil rights and democratic principles.

Martin’s presentation and participation in the Institute further advance her teaching and scholarship in the emerging field of Jewish Legal Studies. The fellowship provides an opportunity to refine the curriculum through engagement with an international community of scholars and to contribute to the broader development of academic programs addressing antisemitism, Jewish identity, and the relationship between law and institutional responsibility.

Professor Andrea J. Martin’s research focuses on constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, and both historical and current antisemitism. Through her work in the developing field of Jewish Legal Studies, she creates legal frameworks and promotes strategies to influence policies aimed at combating antizionism and other modern forms of Jew-hatred and protecting civil rights.
