Professor Andrea J. Martin presents at Contemporary Antisemitism Haifa 2026

CARLISLE—Professor Andrea J. Martin presented at Contemporary Antisemitism Haifa 2026, held July 7–9, 2026, at the University of Haifa in Haifa, Israel.

Martin participated in the panel “Beyond Statements: Institutional Accountability and Legal Enforcement Against Antisemitism.” The panel also included Anat Alon-Beck, professor of law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and William Organek, assistant professor of law at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, CUNY. The panel examined the roles of institutional accountability and legal enforcement in addressing antisemitism and considered how institutions can move beyond public statements toward meaningful and effective responses.

The conference featured prominent keynote speakers, including philosopher and author Bernard-Henri Lévy; Ambassador (Ret.) Professor Deborah Lipstadt; Professor Irwin Cotler; Professor Karin Stögner; and Professor David Hirsh. Scholars and experts from around the world convened to examine contemporary antisemitism across a range of disciplines and institutional settings.

Martin’s participation reflected her ongoing work as founder and director of the Center for Jewish Legal Studies and her scholarship in the emerging field of Jewish Legal Studies. Her scholarship and public engagement continue to contribute to international conversations on antisemitism, institutional accountability, civil rights enforcement, and the development of legal frameworks to protect Jewish students, faculty, employees, and communities.

Contemporary Antisemitism is the largest annual academic conference dedicated to the study of contemporary antisemitism. The 2026 conference brought together over 200 presenters from 20 countries.

Professor Andrea J. Martin’s research focuses on constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, and both historical and current antisemitism. Through her work in the developing field of Jewish Legal Studies, she creates legal frameworks and promotes strategies to influence policies aimed at combating antizionism and other modern forms of Jew-hatred and protecting civil rights.
