Penn State Dickinson Law honors Class of 2026 with year-end awards
They were recognized for their academic accomplishments and community service.
CARLISLE, PA—Penn State Dickinson Law recently honored graduating students’ achievements, recognizing them with awards for their academic accomplishments and community service.
The ceremony, simulcast in the Carlisle and University Park locations on May 14, opened with welcoming remarks from Penn State Dickinson Law and School of International Affairs Dean and Donald J. Farage Professor of Law Danielle M. Conway.
She introduced student speakers Jenna N. Hidalgo ’26 and Kristen Slubowski ’26, who were chosen by their classmates to deliver the address as the recipients of the Lee Popp Award. The award is given to a student at each location who exemplifies excellence in service, extracurricular activities, and devotion to the class.
“We’ve all learned in more ways than one that success is best measured in the way that we lift each other up, even in the face of doubt, uncertainty, and stress. I know we’re all proud of the community that we’ve built here,” said Hidalgo.
“I am leaving law school a better person, leader, and future attorney because of my classmates. The amount of love and commitment that each of you show in everything that you do, every day, is what makes Penn State Dickinson Law such a special place,” said Slubowski.
The Black Law Students Association in Carlisle and Public Interest Law Fund in University Park earned student organizations of the year.
Additionally, students recognized four faculty and staff members. Multimedia Specialist Thomas P. Dennis Jr. and Director of Business Services Randy Fulton received Support Staff Members of the Year, and Professor of Law Sarah J. Williams and Professor of Law Jud Mathews received Faculty Members of the Year.
