CARLISLE and UNIVERSITY PARK, PA—A recent article in the National Jurist shone a spotlight on how students decide where to get their legal education, and two Penn State Dickinson Law administrators and a student were quoted in the story.

It included advice from Amanda DiPolvere, associate dean for enrollment, admissions, and graduate and international programs, and Rebecca Schreiber, assistant dean of admissions and financial aid, as well as quotes from Divya Patel ’26.

The story noted that “Getting into law school has never been easy, but as the number of applicants soars the process is even more competitive” in an article titled “How to choose between law school offers.”

DiPolvere recommended considering more than just academics. “Prospective students should also pay attention to how a school feels when they visit,” DiPolvere told the magazine.

Schreiber advised students to ask about additional support provided by the law school. “We have a free student food pantry, textbook lending shelves and a professional clothing closet in addition to generous merit- and needs-based scholarships,” Schreiber told the magazine. “I recommend students speak with a financial aid counselor after they receive their offers to gain a better understanding of what is available.”

Patel shared details about how she made her choice. “The school’s bar passage rate is also high, which was important,” she told the magazine.
