Law School Celebrates Miller Center Public Interest and Pro Bono Advocates

Professor Katherene Holtzinger Conner recognized several Dickinson Law students for their commitment to the community in a public law setting during a ceremony held on April 18 at Lewis Katz Hall.

2017 Public Interest Pro Bono CeremonyThe Miller Center Pro Bono Program recognizes a Miller Center Public Interest or Pro Bono Advocate as any student who during his or her law school career performs at least 60 hours of legal work in one or more of the following public interest settings: legal services office, a public defender’s office, American Civil Liberties Union, the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center, county or federal bar association pro bono projects, Center for Immigration Rights, Civil Rights Appellate Clinic, Children’s Advocacy Clinic, and Community Law Clinic, as well as other settings that serve individuals who traditionally have not had full access to justice.

The Miller Center Pro Bono Program provides a number of opportunities for students to engage in qualifying work. Hours performed as part of fellowships, clinics, internships, and alternative spring break may also contribute to the minimum hours worked to be recognized.
