Associate Dean Jeffrey A. Dodge guest lectures in numerous courses in 2025–’26
He spoke on topics including international human rights law and exceptions to confidentiality rules
CARLISLE, PA—Over the 2025–’26 academic year, Jeffrey A. Dodge, associate dean for academic affairs, assistant professor of law, and Joseph H. Goldstein Faculty Scholar, guest lectured in four courses.
In the fall, Dodge was invited to Dr. Mireille Rebeiz's “Gender Identity & International Human Rights Law” course at Dickinson College. His talk on October 30, 2025, focused on the United States' lack of participation in international human rights laws on gender and sexuality. To make the event more memorable, Penn State Dickinson Law hosted the class in the Apfelbaum Family Courtroom and Auditorium, and the Admissions Office provided students with information about the Law School’s academic offerings.
On February 9, 2026, Dodge visited Professor Jill C. Engle's “Law & (In)Equity” course to deliver the lecture "Where Do We Go From Here? Addressing the SCOTUS Decision in the SFFA Cases and Reconciling Interpretations." This is the second year Engle has invited Dodge to guest lecture in her University Park-based seminar course.
Having taught “Professional Responsibility” in the past, Dodge visited Professor Katrice Bridges Copeland's Carlisle-based course on February 26, 2026. His guest lecture covered exceptions to confidentiality rules and discussed a range of topics, from mandatory reporting requirements to artificial intelligence (AI).
Finally, on April 8, 2026, Dodge joined the Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) “Colloquium” course to explain how academic hiring works at U.S. law schools and answer questions about the various pathways and resources available. Dr. Rebeiz teaches this required course to Doctor of Juridical Science students at Penn State Dickinson Law, some of whom expressed interest in learning about academic careers in legal education.
