CARLISLE, Pa.—Daryl Lim, H. Laddie Montague Jr. Chair in Law and associate dean for research and strategic partnerships at Penn State Dickinson Law, was featured in The National Law Review’s annual “Predictions for AI and the Law” survey for 2026. The survey highlights perspectives from legal professionals across practice, academia, and the legal technology sector on how artificial intelligence (AI) will shape the profession in the year ahead.

In his contribution, Lim predicted that legal AI will become an embedded, everyday tool across drafting, discovery, and compliance, with growing use of custom-built tools tailored to particular practice areas. He also noted that regulators are likely to shift toward more concrete enforcement approaches, particularly regarding data use and market power, while the profession will continue to grapple with how AI changes professional judgment, responsibility, and the distribution of efficiency gains. Lim’s participation aligns with his ongoing scholarship and teaching at the intersection of artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and technology governance and supports the Law School’s broader engagement with emerging issues shaping the legal profession.

The National Law Review is a widely read legal news and analysis platform serving practitioners, in-house counsel, and policy audiences. Its annual AI predictions survey curates short, forward-looking assessments from a cross-section of leaders in law, legal education, and legal technology. Lim was included among the 85 respondents featured in the 2026 edition.
