CARLISLE, Pa.—Assistant Dean for Career Services Tom Lee served as a presenter on a 1L Professional Development panel at the 2025 Professional Development Institute hosted by the National Association of Law Placement (NALP) in Washington, DC. The event brought together more than 500 law firm chief talent officers and professional development directors, along with law school career services professionals from over 30 law schools across the country.

His remarks examined legal strategies addressing the evolving needs of first-year law students, including early professional identity formation, skills development, and career readiness. The conference covered issues focused on the persistent challenges in recruitment, retention, and attorney development. Discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration between law schools and employers, advancing inclusive professional development practices, and adapting training models to meet the demands of a changing legal market.


Assistant Dean for Career Services Tom Lee spent more than a decade as an attorney at a Harrisburg law firm before joining Penn State Dickinson Law as assistant director of career services at Penn State Dickinson Law in 2020 and rising to his current position in 2025.
