For fifteen years he supervised the appellate moot court program and taught Appellate Practice, and he taught Professional Responsibility for more than a decade. As either assistant dean or associate dean for academic affairs, he also served in an administrative role for more than a quarter century; and he supervised the integration of the Law School’s academic and recordkeeping programs with the University’s during the merger and helped originate several joint degree programs with other units of the University. Most important, for more than 30 years he joined his students for slow-pitch softball tournaments in Boston and Charlottesville, VA.
