Danielle M. Conway, Distinguished Professor of Law and executive director of the Antiracist Development Institute at Penn State Dickinson Law, is the 2026 president of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS). Her theme for the year is Emancipate. Academic. Freedom. This theme focuses the lens on higher education and law schools as sites of connection between the values of intellectual inquiry and the public good, creation and advancement of knowledge, and the foundational centering of education as an essential part of the democratic project.
